Our take

My take on PU Prime

Launched in 2015 as Pacific Union before becoming PU Prime, this CFD broker operates from Mauritius and the Seychelles under the licences of the Mauritian Financial Services Commission (FSC) and the Seychellois Financial Services Authority (FSA). The catalogue exceeds 2,000 instruments across forex, stocks and ETFs as CFDs, indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies, accessible from MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.

We list PU Prime as a reference, not as a recommended partner for the UAE: the broker is not regulated by the SCA, the DFSA or the FSRA, nor by any top-tier regulator such as the FCA. Its ECN pricing is competitive, but that has to be weighed against a regulatory framework that is markedly less protective than a locally regulated broker.

“Tight ECN spreads and a broad catalogue, but no top-tier regulator and no UAE licence behind the pricing promise. ”

Safety & regulation

Is your money safe?

PU Prime, a brand of the Pacific Union group, operates under two offshore licences: the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius and the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the Seychelles. Neither of these jurisdictions is a top-tier regulator, and the broker holds no licence in the UAE: it is not authorised by the SCA, the DFSA in the DIFC or the FSRA in ADGM. Client accounts are segregated under the requirements of the Mauritian and Seychellois regulators, but this protection sits outside the scope of any UAE deposit guarantee. The broker announces negative balance protection, without public detail on exactly how it works.

Fees & spreads

What does it really cost?

PU Prime's pricing follows two logics. The Standard account has no commission, with spreads from 1.3 pips on EUR/USD. The ECN/Prime account reverses the formula: spreads from 0.0 pips, against a fixed commission of 3.50 USD per lot traded. On crypto CFDs, spreads start at 0.2%. Account opening and deposits are free, but an inactivity fee of 10 USD per month applies after 6 months without a transaction.

On withdrawals, only the first of each month is free: the rest bear the bank fees specific to the chosen payment method. An active trader who favours the ECN account can benefit from tight pricing, but an occasional user should watch the inactivity and withdrawal fees closely.

The verdict

The verdict

PU Prime offers competitive ECN pricing and a broad catalogue of more than 2,000 instruments on proven MetaTrader platforms. That profile can appeal to a technical trader looking for tight spreads and willing to accept an offshore regulatory framework. The point that weighs most in our assessment is the absence of a top-tier regulator: the broker operates under FSC (Mauritius) and FSA (Seychelles) licences only, is not regulated by the SCA, the DFSA or the FSRA, and carries no UAE deposit guarantee. For an investor in the UAE who wants the security of a solid regulatory framework, we recommend eToro or Pepperstone instead, two partners better suited to a first account or regular use. You can compare the fully regulated options in our UAE comparator.

FAQ PU Prime

Is PU Prime reliable?

PU Prime is not regulated by the SCA, the DFSA or the FSRA, nor by any top-tier regulator such as the FCA. The broker operates under the licences of the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius and the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the Seychelles, two offshore jurisdictions whose requirements sit well below those of a top-tier regulator.

Why choose PU Prime?

For the pricing of its ECN/Prime account, with spreads from 0.0 pips on EUR/USD and a fixed commission of 3.50 USD per lot, and for the breadth of its catalogue of more than 2,000 instruments. It can suit an experienced trader, provided they accept the absence of a top-tier regulator and any UAE licence.

What are the fees at PU Prime?

The Standard account charges no commission but applies spreads from 1.3 pips on EUR/USD. The ECN/Prime account reverses the logic: spreads from 0.0 pips plus a 3.50 USD commission per lot. Who is PU Prime for?

A technical trader or scalper looking for tight spreads on an ECN account and willing to trade outside a top-tier regulatory framework. An investor in the UAE who wants the security of a locally regulated broker will prefer another option from our comparator.

Is it easy to withdraw from PU Prime?

The first withdrawal of the month is free; subsequent withdrawals bear the bank fees of the payment method used. Support is available Monday to Friday, by email, phone and online form.
